Frequently asked questions

Clear answers about Finch — the Swiss personal finance app that connects your banks, brokers and crypto accounts into one intelligent view.

About Finch

What is Finch?+

Finch is a Swiss personal finance app and smart financial coach. It securely connects all your bank accounts, brokers and crypto exchanges into one dashboard, then helps you track spending, net worth and savings goals.

Who is Finch for?+

Finch is built for people living in Switzerland — residents, cross-border workers and expats — who hold accounts at several banks, often in more than one currency, and want a single, calm overview of their money.

Is Finch a bank?+

No. Finch is not a bank and does not hold your money. It reads account data with your explicit consent through regulated Open Banking and secure aggregation partners, so your funds always stay with your own bank.

Is Finch available yet?+

Finch is in pre-launch. You can join the waitlist today to get early access when the app opens to the first group of Swiss users.

What does Finch cost?+

Early-access users get free access during the launch phase. Pricing for later plans will be published before any paid plan begins, and you will never be charged without confirming first.

Banks and connections

Which Swiss banks does Finch support?+

Finch connects to 4,000+ banks across Switzerland and Europe, including UBS, PostFinance, Raiffeisen, the cantonal banks, Bank CIC, Yuh, Swissquote and Revolut. The full, always-current list lives on the supported banks page.

Can I connect European banks too?+

Yes. Finch supports banks across the EU and UK — including Deutsche Bank, BNP Paribas, ING, N26 and Wise — which is useful for cross-border workers and expats with accounts in two countries.

Can I track stocks, ETFs and crypto?+

Yes. Finch aggregates brokerage accounts such as Swissquote and Saxo alongside crypto exchanges, so your investments count towards your net worth automatically instead of living in a spreadsheet.

What if my bank is not supported?+

You can request your bank from within the app and we prioritise the most-requested institutions. Banks marked "Coming soon" on the supported banks page are already in the integration pipeline.

How long does connecting an account take?+

Usually under a minute per bank. You authenticate directly with your bank, approve read-only access, and your balances and transactions appear in Finch within seconds.

Security and privacy

Is Finch secure?+

Yes. Connections are read-only, all data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and authentication always happens on your bank's own login screen — Finch never sees or stores your banking password.

Can Finch move my money?+

No. Finch requests read-only access only. It can display balances and transactions but cannot make payments, transfers or any change to your accounts.

Is Finch compliant with Swiss data protection law?+

Yes. Finch is built to comply with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP/revDSG) and the EU GDPR, including your rights to access, export and delete your data.

Does Finch sell my data?+

Never. Your financial data is not sold, rented or shared with advertisers. It is used solely to deliver the features you asked for inside the app.

How do I disconnect a bank or delete my data?+

You can revoke a bank connection in the app at any time, and request full deletion of your account and data. Some banks additionally require you to revoke access in their own e-banking portal.

Features

What is multibanking?+

Multibanking means seeing accounts from several different banks in one app. Because most Swiss households bank with two or three institutions, it removes the need to open multiple apps to know where you stand.

Does Finch handle multiple currencies?+

Yes. CHF, EUR, USD and other currencies are supported side by side, converted into a single reference currency so your total net worth is always meaningful.

Can Finch help me build a budget?+

Yes. Finch categorises your spending automatically and supports budgeting methods such as 50/30/20. You can also use the free Swiss budget planner on this site before the app launches.

Does Finch track pillar 3a?+

Yes. Pillar 3a and other retirement savings can be tracked alongside your everyday accounts, so you can see progress towards the annual maximum contribution.

How does the AI coaching work?+

Finch analyses your own transaction history to surface patterns, recurring costs and savings opportunities in plain language. It offers guidance and insights — it is a coach, not a licensed financial advisor.

Can I export my data for my tax return?+

Yes. Finch supports structured exports of transactions and balances that make preparing a Swiss tax declaration far quicker than collecting statements from every bank.

Can AI assistants connect to Finch?+

Yes. Finch offers an MCP server so external AI agents can securely query your financial context with your permission — useful if you already work with an AI assistant day to day.
