Connect Finch to Your Favorite AI Assistant

Bring your financial picture directly into your preferred AI chat interface. By connecting Finch to assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini, you can ask questions about your money in plain language, such as:
Connecting is completely passwordless and seamless. You don't need to copy API keys or deal with complex tokens — you simply pair your assistant using the Finch app and approve access using biometric security like Face ID or fingerprint authentication.
What Your Assistant Can Do
Your AI assistant interacts with Finch through secure, read-only tools drawn from your cached Finch data. The assistant can view your financial overview, but it cannot transfer money, make investments, or change your account settings.
Available Tools
| Tool | What It Does |
|---|---|
get_net_worth | View net worth trends over 1D, 1W, 1M, 6M, or YTD in your base currency. |

list_transactions | Fetch your recent transactions (optional date filter, up to 100 per query). |

list_assets | View manually tracked assets (real estate, vehicles, valuables). |
get_market_snapshot | Read Finch's shared market commentary, movers, and financial news headlines. |
get_refresh_status | Check remaining monthly bank refreshes or check if a specific account can sync. |
refresh_account | Request a fresh bank sync for a single account directly from your chat. |
How Bank Refreshes Work
Most financial institutions sync freely whenever requested.
For institutions that charge per-call sync fees (such as ZKB, UBS, and other bLink providers), syncing consumes one of your monthly plan refreshes. Your first sync for each of these accounts is free.
If you are on the Free plan, per-call banks sync once when first connected. Upgrading to a premium tier restores ongoing manual refreshes.
When your allowance runs out, your assistant will notify you clearly — you will never incur unexpected charges.
How to Connect Your Assistant

In your Finch app, navigate to Settings › API keys › Connect an AI assistant. Enter the code (or tap the deep link button) and check the listed domain name to verify the connection request. Confirm access using Face ID or your fingerprint.
- 4
Start Asking Questions
No tokens or credentials to store. Your browser tab will refresh and automatically redirect you back to your assistant within a few seconds. The assistant retains seamless access for up to 30 days of active use.

Where Your Data Goes
Any financial information you request during a conversation is transmitted to your chosen assistant provider (such as Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google) and governed by that platform's privacy policy and terms.
Check the Domain
Always verify the domain name displayed on the in-app consent screen (e.g., claude.ai). Only approve a pairing request if you initiated it yourself from that exact domain.
Revoke Access Anytime
You can disconnect assistants whenever you like inside the Finch app by navigating to Settings › API keys › Connected assistants. Disconnecting takes effect immediately on the assistant's next request. Removing a connector within the assistant interface does not automatically terminate access on Finch's side.
Protected Account Details
Account numbers are always masked to their final four digits. Full IBANs and sensitive identifiers never leave Finch servers.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
The code has expired.+
Pairing codes remain active for 10 minutes. If your code expires, start the pairing process again from your assistant to generate a fresh code.
No pending connection matches this code.+
Double-check the entered characters. Codes only use letters and numbers, excluding easily confused characters like 0, O, 1, or I. After 10 incorrect attempts, code entry is temporarily paused for 10 minutes.
Unregistered redirect.+
Your assistant attempted to redirect to an address different from its initial registration. Remove the Finch connector from your assistant's settings and add it again from scratch.
My assistant says Finch is not authorized after disconnecting.+
This is expected behavior. If you disconnected the app, simply initiate a new connection flow from your assistant to pair it again.
The assistant is returning old balances.+
Responses rely on cached data to keep interactions fast. You can ask your assistant directly to refresh your account (it will inform you if you have remaining manual refreshes), or perform a manual pull-to-refresh inside the Finch app.
No refreshes left.+
You have used your monthly allowance for institutions that charge per-call sync fees, or you are on the Free plan (where per-call institutions sync once upon initial connection). Upgrading your plan restores additional manual refreshes.
The “Open Finch on this device” button does nothing.+
Your installed app version may be out of date. Update Finch to the latest app release, then enter the pairing code manually in Settings › API keys › Connect an AI assistant.
