bLink
bLink is the Swiss open-banking platform operated by SIX. It acts as a standardised hub between banks and approved third-party providers, letting customers securely share account and transaction data with apps such as accounting tools and finance trackers.
In detail
Instead of every app negotiating a separate connection with every bank, bLink provides one vetted interface. Banks join as data providers, software vendors join as consumers, and SIX handles onboarding, security review and contractual standards.
The customer stays in control: connections are activated inside e-banking, scoped to specific data, and can be switched off at any moment without contacting the app.
- Operated by SIX, the infrastructure provider behind the Swiss financial market.
- Connections are activated and revoked from within your own e-banking.
- Used for account information, payments and multibanking services.
Related terms
Open banking is the practice of letting a bank customer share their account data with a licensed third-party app through a secure interface (API), instead of screen-scraping or manual file uploads. In Switzerland it is market-driven rather than legally mandated.
MultibankingMultibanking is viewing and managing accounts held at several different banks inside one single application. Balances, transactions and — in some cases — payments from all connected institutions appear in one consolidated overview.
