TWINT
TWINT is Switzerland's national mobile payment app. It links to a Swiss bank account or card and is used for in-store QR payments, online checkout and instant person-to-person transfers between Swiss mobile numbers.
In detail: TWINT
TWINT is owned by a consortium of Swiss banks, which is why most banks offer a branded version of the same system. Payments settle against your linked account, and person-to-person transfers arrive within seconds.
Because TWINT activity appears as transactions on the linked bank account, spending made through it can be tracked in a finance app once that underlying account is connected.
- Used for QR payments in shops, online checkout and P2P transfers.
- Backed by a consortium of Swiss banks — most offer their own branded app.
- Spending shows up on the linked bank account, so it can be tracked there.

Multibanking is viewing and managing accounts held at several different banks inside one single application. Balances, transactions and — in some cases — payments from all connected institutions appear in one consolidated overview.
Open bankingOpen banking is the practice of letting a bank customer share their account data with a licensed third-party app through a secure interface (API), instead of screen-scraping or manual file uploads. In Switzerland it is market-driven rather than legally mandated.
